Camp Counselor 


Camp Cahito, a day camp in Balboa Park, is looking for enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to help fulfill our mission statement: Building Caring Confident Youth and Future Leaders. The camp is operated by Camp Fire USA – San Diego and Imperial Counties Council, formerly known as Camp Fire Girls. We are now Co-Educational. Camp Cahito is a traditional outdoor education day camp program located on 7 beautiful acres. Being a camp counselor means changing lives and having an amazing summer experience.  


Qualifications:

 

*Must be at least 18 years old

*Must have current certification in CPR and First Aid (must be obtained before June 18th)

*Must be willing to be finger printed

*Must have reliable transportation

*Must have experience working with children

*Must be willing to work from June 18th through August 28th 

Being a camp counselor is a great position for people in school studying education, counseling, child development, sociology, recreation and other similar areas of study.

We are currently looking for: 


*Little Stars Counselors: Preschool ages 3 to 5 year old

*Starflight Counselors: Grades K – 2nd

*Adventure Counselors: Grades 3rd -5th

*Discovery Counselors: Grades 6th– 8th

*Certified Archery Instructor

*Arts and Crafts Instructor

VOLUNTEERS

We are looking for volunteers who enjoying working outdoors, clearing trails and working with kids during our community events.  Our site brings a safe place for the children of our community to experience the outdoors and learn from nature. During school breaks including winter, spring and summer we run day camp programs where volunteers help to make an adventurous experience possible to all members of the San Diego neighborhoods.  For more information please call our office we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
